What’s New

The MA Divorce App has been completely rebuilt from the ground up. The updated version features a modernized design and enhanced calculators that now accurately apply the 2025 Child Support Guidelines and current alimony calculations.

Most notably, the app now offers a powerful new premium feature: the Cavanagh Calculator, available by subscription for $0.99 per month or $10.00 per year.

The Cavanagh Calculator: Compliance Made Simple

Pursuant to the Supreme Judicial Court’s decision in Cavanagh v. Cavanagh, parties in cases involving both child support and alimony must now present the court with multiple comparative calculations, including:

1. A calculation of child support first, using all available income;
2. A calculation of alimony first, followed by child support using alimony-adjusted figures; and
3. A comparison of the two results, taking into account tax consequences.

These calculations are mandatory, highly technical, and time-consuming—particularly when conducted during negotiations or while in the courthouse.

The Cavanagh Calculator within the MA Divorce App automates this entire process. With just a few inputs, users can generate accurate, compliant calculations directly from their phone—saving time, reducing errors, and ensuring adherence to current Massachusetts law.
