When do break-ups (divorces) happen the most?

According to facebook status updates, break ups happen mostly around spring breaks and the months leading up to Christmas.

    See, this is my fear.

My take on it here (albeit a joking one):

Interesting – wonder how that compares with the filing of divorces? Our family law firm has little happening from Thanksgiving through January 1; then there’s a surge. Our thought is that people are simply gutting it out through the holidays. The work also picks up a bit just before summer vacation when there are kids, but not too much happens in the summer.
